About Mr Roger C. Humphry


Mr R Humphry MD D.O. FRCOphth FRCS qualified at St Barts Hospital London. He trained in Ophthalmology in London, Bristol and San Francisco

He holds a Consultant Ophthalmologist post in Salisbury. He is a qualified General Ophthalmologist with special interests in Small-Incision Cataract Surgery, Paediatric Ophthalmology and Squint surgery.

He has been a council member of the United Kingdom and Ireland Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and Secretary to the Royal Society of Medicine. He is a member of The British Medical Association.

He has been Lead Clinician in Ophthalmology and is Chairman of the Salisbury Medical Society. He is currently an examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and is an accredited VISX Surgeon for refractive surgery.

His MD Thesis was on Cataract Surgery and he has produced and given a number of papers on this and related topics.

Mr Humphry has a great interest in assisting Ophthalmology in the Developing World. He is Honorary Ophthalmic Surgeon to the charity 'Eyes for East Africa' and spends several weeks a year working in Kenya.

He is a keen musician and plays Saxophone in the Salisbury Big Band.
